Minus Elizabeth

January sees the release of the debut EP from this Bournemouth/Lymington foursome. We don't know a great deal about them other than that they play punk-pop stuff with a bit of attitude, so roving reporter Jamie went out and email bombed them to find out about their site, their music and their "slight untruths" . . .

tp - Okay first can you give us a bit of a background and tell us who's who and what you each make noise with?

ME - Well, there's myself (Johnny B) on drums, Ben Fitt on bass and vocals, Tom green on Guitar and James Lam on guitar also.

tp - You're from Lymington in the New Forest. What's the scene like down there? Do you have many live venues or do you have to travel further afield (Christchurch/Southampton)?

ME - Well, we're not actually from lymington. only i live in lymington. the rest of the band live in bournemouth. so we have more contacs and know more about the scene over there.

tp - What would you describe your style of music as? Who are you most influenced by?

ME - We like to call it emo pop-punk. its mainly influenced by NFG, starting line, blink. but we also love heavier bands and maybe take some influence from them like finch, thursday, hot rod circuit.

tp - Have you recorded any original material? Who writes the music and who writes the lyrics?

ME - No we havent but we're going into a studio in january so we'll have a 5-6 track ep out.

tp - What was the hardest thing about starting the band?

ME - the hardest thing about starting it was getting everyone to turn up to the first practice. after that it was really easy.

tp - What bands have you played with in your local area that the readers should know about?

ME - not many really. our band of course, and a band from bournemouth called mr miagi they're pretty cool and we played with them at mr smiths in bournemouth.

tp - Okay, and finally - any parting shots, words of thanks or big-ups?

ME - we would like to say Gangreen suck ass! cos they do and the are dicks. and the commited rule!! and thanks to jay at mr smiths for being really cool.
