If you lot actually pay attention to any of this crap then you'll remember that we interviewed these guys no so long ago. They said then that they were going into a studio in January and they did. They came out again with some CDs, and were nice enough to send us one...
The EP goes by the name of Seven Seconds to Midnight and comes with four tracks - Fallen Through, Thinking of Summer, Let Me Know and Broken Record. Any of you who've visited their website may have seen the MP3 downloads of the first two on the CD. For those of you who haven't, it's fairly lightweight emo punk.
OK, first up - the actual quality of the recording is cack. It sounds like it was played through a sponge. It's pretty fuzzy and really quiet (I nearly blew my head off when I had to turn it up to listen too and forgot to turn it back down again), which is a real shame because there are some good delicate guitar licks in there. The bass also moves around a bit when their aren't any vocals (the same guy does both - the bass better than the vocals, it has to be said) and the rhythms can be quite interesting. But the main thing when it comes to melodic punk is that the songs are good. And they are. The whole EP is fairly easy to listen to and although the band seem to be big Drive-Thru fans, the songs are a little less obvious and crash-bang-wallop than most Drive-Thru style stuff. This may or may not be a good thing as far as you're concerned, but I liked it.
If I had one thing to say about the EP it would be 'unpolished' - occasionally the timing seemed a little off - but there are good songs on there and if you do get an opportunity to see these guys play then I recommend you go along. It's just that this CD sounds more like a jam tape than a studio recording.

Yes I have to agree with Tom there. Although I only nicked the CD off of him for an evening I gave it a good listen and while the recording quality isn't amazing you get the
general idea of the sound, and I think live it would be pretty damn good. It was only done on a budget of £100 so maybe if they recorded again in a better studio there'd be a more polished result but as it stands its
still a good advert for their brand of melodic punk. See if you can catch 'em at Bournemouth gigs.
